Dr. Yoshimitsu Hamano

Yoshimitsu Hamano received his Ph.D. degree from Toyama Prefectural University, Japan in 2002. During his graduate studies under the supervision of Professor Tohru Dairi, he received rigorous training in biochemistry and genetics. He then moved to University of Arizona where he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Bradley S. Moore's laboratory. In 2003, he joined Fukui Prefectural University as an Assistant Professor (2003), Associate Professor (2011), and Professor (2015) in the Department of Bioscience. His current research interests include biosynthesis of bioactive microbial metabolites and development of new methods for chemical biology.
