
Dr. William D. Lubell

An organic chemist studying methods to create peptides and peptidomimetics employed as receptor modulators for drug discovery (www.wdlubellgroup.com), Lubell received a B.A. from Columbia College (1984) and Ph.D. from U. C., Berkeley (1989), where he studied under Professor Henry Rapoport. A Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Fellow in the lab of Professor Ryoji Noyori (1990-91, Nagoya U.), Lubell joined the Chemistry Department at Université de Montréal in 1991. Co-author of >250 scientific publications, editorial board member of peptide science and drug design journals, and intellectual property innovator used to launch Canadian start-up companies, Lubell was recently honored with the 2013 Canadian Society for Chemistry Bernard Belleau and 2018 Teva Canada Ltd. Biological and Medicinal Chemistry Lectureship Awards. Originator of Molecules of Life (www.moleculesoflife.ca), Lubell explores experiential education techniques to teach science to elementary school students.
