Prof. Peter J. H. Scott PhD

Prof. Peter Scott obtained his undergraduate degree in medicinal chemistry from Loughborough University and his PhD in organic chemistry from Durham University, under the mentorship of Patrick Steel. He then moved to the US for postdoc research at SUNY Buffalo under Huw Davies, and PET radiochemistry at the University of Michigan under Prof. Michael Kilbourn.
Dr. Scott started his independent faculty career at the University of Michigan in 2009, where he is currently an Associate Professor of Radiology and Pharmacology, Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Director of the PET Center. He is also a member of the Rogel Cancer Center and the Interdepartmental Program in Medicinal Chemistry.
Prof. Scott has published about 140 papers, >30 book chapters, edited 5 books (including a new edition of the Handbook of Radiopharmaceuticals that came out this year) and is listed as an inventor on multiple patents. His laboratory is funded by NIH.
