
Dr Lars Goerigk

Lars Goerigk is a tenured senior lecturer at the School of Chemistry at The University of Melbourne, Australia. In 2011, he obtained his PhD in the group of Stefan Grimme at the University of Münster, Germany. He then moved to The University of Sydney on a postdoctoral fellowship (Germany Academy of Sciences "Leopoldina"), where he worked with Jeffrey R. Reimers and also established a successful collaboration with Leo Radom. In 2014, Lars joined his current institution thanks to a Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (Australian Research Council), where he transitioned to a continuing role in 2016.
Lars' work in Theoretical and Computational Quantum Chemistry has been acknowledged with several awards, including the 2017 Physical Chemistry Division Lectureship (Royal Australian Chemical Institute, RACI), and the two highest Australian Chemistry awards for early- and mid-career researchers: a 2019 Le Fèvre Medal (Australian Academy of Science) and a 2020 Rennie Memorial Medal (RACI).
