Dr Fabienne Dumoulin

I am a chemist with a biology background. PhD in France (2002). Post-doc in Italy (2003-2004). I got passionate about photodynamic therapy and phthalocyanines. I am an Assoc Prof of Chemistry at Acibadem University in Istanbul. My main research interest focuses on PDT photosensitisers, with 85+ publications and 3 book chapters. I cover several academic duties, from research, teaching and mentoring of young researchers, to the organization of international congresses and editorship at RSC Advances and the Journal of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines. I also guest-edited a special issue of Photochemical and Photobiological Sciences, on Nano- and Molecular Engineering of Photosensitisers. Being an ardent promoter of the role of #WomenInSTEM, I have edited the book series Porphyrin Science by Women. Apart from my academic research activities, I've decided to become a "PDT enabler" to promote PDT, further pull together the community and share its amazing potential with all possible end-users.
