Professor Donald G. Truhlar

Donald G. Truhlar is Regents Professor at the University of Minnesota and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Caltech in 1970. He has received honors for his research in chemical dynamics and quantum mechanics, including the ACS Award for Computers in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Research, NAS Award for Scientific Reviewing, ACS Peter Debye Award for Physical Chemistry, Schrödinger Medal of WATOC, Dudley Herschbach Prize for Molecular Collision Dynamics, RSC Chemical Dynamics Award, APS Earle K. Plyler Prize for Molecular Spectroscopy and Dynamics, and the ACS Award in Theoretical Chemistry. He has served as editor or associate editor for JACS, Theor. Chem. Acc., Computer Phys. Commun., and J. Chem. Phys. He also served as ACS National Councilor, ACS Secretary of Theoretical Chemistry Subdivision, and APS Chair of the Division of Chemical Physics.
